From its origins with Prosper Jeantil, an agricultural machinery manufacturer, the company has always maintained a forward-thinking mindset aimed at continuous improvement. This mindset has been shared and embodied daily by all the collaborators who have succeeded each other and passed it down from generation to generation.
Supporting the Future of Farmers and Livestock Breeders
At Jeantil, it’s all about succession: generations that have taken the helm of our company since 1898, but more importantly, a succession of developments in agricultural equipment and machinery to meet the needs and expectations of farmers and livestock breeders in each era.
First machine
During the industrial revolution, faced with the need for agricultural mechanization, the family business in Mordelles was the birthplace of the grain shaker, Jeantil’s very first machine. Its reliability and durability, synonymous with success among farmers, led the next generation of Jeantil to manufacture new agricultural machinery: combines; one, then another, then a third…
Jeantil company
The early 1960s marked the legal creation of Jeantil and the development of new product ranges: manure spreaders, slurry tankers, and agricultural trailers.
Manufactured by about twenty employees at the Mordelles site, these machines required the craftsmanship of blacksmiths and carpenters, with machines still needing a combination of metal and wood. Our ranges expanded, our agricultural machines improved with feedback from farmers and livestock breeders, and our company continued to grow steadily.
New plant
The need to modernize and expand led us, in the early 1970s, to build a new factory. Thus, we inaugurated the production site at L’Hermitage, west of Rennes.
Hermitage
While the historic site in Mordelles continued its boiler-making activities until the mid-1980s, all Jeantil activities were transferred to L’Hermitage in 1988. It was during this decade that our company diversified into manufacturing agricultural equipment for livestock: feed mixers, straw choppers… until 1996, when we started producing windrow turners.
Godimat factory purchase
The new millennium began with the acquisition of Godimat in 2000 to develop our range of slurry tankers and trailers.
DLG Certification
The following year, we launched our EVR vertical auger manure spreaders, a flagship product range for Jeantil, which received DLG certification in 2004 for precision, reliability, and robustness.
New design
The early 2000s marked the constant improvement of our product ranges and the emergence of a sleek design for our machines starting in 2015.
Merger and expansion
In 2019, we merged with a former Mayenne-based sheet metal company located in Saint-Aignan-sur-Roë.
It was also that year that we obtained the building permit for an expansion of the Hermitage site, adding an additional 5,000 m². Now, with 15,000 m², we have reached a new milestone by integrating new painting lines, welding robots, automated cutting machines, fiber laser cutting systems, press brakes, and more. And thanks to the 5,000 m² of the sheet metal site, we now have 20,000 m² of industrial space, allowing us to confidently plan for our future.

Today, and even more so tomorrow, we design, manufacture, and assemble reliable and robust equipment for precision agriculture: straw choppers, feed mixers, screw mixers, manure spreaders, slurry tankers, trailers, automated feeding solutions… Our agricultural machinery meets the expectations of professionals who demand technical products and technological solutions. This search for technical expertise is part of our company’s identity, where every employee, regardless of their status or role, can contribute their “technical eye.”

Our credo has been the same since the company’s creation: to integrate and master the entire process, from design and manufacturing to assembly at our production sites in France, and to delivery of the machine to the client, both in France and around the world.
