Design Office and R&D

Our R&D Paves the Way for Our Future

Since the creation of our company, each succeeding generation has been involved, committed, and contributed to the design and development of machines by providing their “technical eye.” The establishment of a Design Office at the heart of our company was in line with our development.

Three Innovation Areas

When the second generation of Jeantil took over the company, it embarked on the production of a new type of agricultural machine: combines. To achieve this, the leaders of the time decided that this equipment would be designed at scale 1 on the workshop wall! Workers would then build the combine as it was drawn, checking the dimensions of the parts by comparing them to those sketched on the wall. This was Jeantil’s very first Design Office.

A century later, while methods, processes, techniques, and technologies have profoundly changed, the spirit of ingenuity and pragmatism remains the same. Today, we have an integrated Design Office, where a team of about ten employees think about and design the solutions, equipment, and agricultural machines of tomorrow. Composed of industrial design engineers and technicians, automation engineers, and prototype technicians, our Design Office focuses on three main areas:

  • “Towed” Machines: All design work for these machines is carried out in this office.
  • Automation: (Electrical and electronic) The development primarily revolves around automated feeding solutions, although the acquired expertise also benefits other equipment ranges.
  • Prototyping: For building the first machine of a range or production tool templates; a dedicated area allows us to validate designs and perform pre-series production…

Continuous Improvement as a Guiding Principle

Being closer to a family-owned industrial SME than a high-tech startup, we prefer to advance steadily, focusing on the development of our products. Each of our innovations is designed with a perspective of optimization and continuous improvement.

This approach allows us to ensure the technical expertise and durability of our equipment by constantly striving to improve existing products and addressing the needs and expectations of farmers and livestock breeders who demand increasingly precise, reliable, and high-performance agricultural machinery.

Our Design Office prepares our future, crafting the agricultural machinery of tomorrow with technical sophistication and thoughtful design. Aware of being at the heart of a crucial service, the Design Office team benefits from being in-house to observe different phases of machine construction in the workshops and identify potential improvements on-site. Just as we maintain control over our know-how in our workshops, we retain control over all our designs, from the software programs that drive our production tools to the designs of our agricultural machinery.

Leveraging “Field Feedback” to Innovate

Facing farmers and livestock breeders who expect agility and responsiveness, our Design Office relies on field feedback to improve our products. The combination of “proximity,” “integrated design,” and “expertise” is our advantage that makes a difference in producing products that meet exact usage needs.

Our automated feeding solution (our R4D4 robot) also embodies all our expertise, techniques, and technologies that we continuously master and improve… which we reimagine through a new machine to address evolving needs.
